Cleaning Pavers
To avoid developing a slippery and treachorous outdoor paving surface
Smart Precast recommends that concrete pavers be thoroughly hosed down
with a garden hose and swept once every six weeks to remove any dirt or
organic grime. With a further dry brooming every three weeks to remove
loose material that could become damp, stick and contaminate the paver
surface. Any water blasting used must be set on a low setting with as
wide a fan discharge as possible - to avoid scouring the concrete surface.
Stubborn dirt or organic matter can be removed with the gentle scrubbing
of a non-metallic broom or brush with warm water. For stubborn and unexpected
stain removal please refer to the following PDF file.
Note: Cleaning may change the colour of the concrete and / or affect
the original surface texture. Water blasting will also alter the paver surface and change the appearance.
Before attempting to remove a stain from concrete, a small trial area in an inconspicuous
location should / must be treated first to check the effect of the cleaning method.

Please ensure any wall plastering around or above your completed paving area is well covered with drop sheets or plastic so as to avoid the unsightly mess of spilt plaster adhering to your paver surface permanantly.
